About Joe:

Joseph C. Traynor is the President and principal appraiser for Traynor & Associates, Inc.  Traynor & Associates, Inc. is a full-service real estate appraisal firm serving the entire State of Indiana.   The firm specializes in eminent domain appraisals and land development appraisals.  Significant projects over the past three years have included I-69 from Evansville to Indianapolis (5 sections), US 31 from Marion County to State Road 38, and the US 31 Kokomo Bypass.  The firm also provided appraisal services for The Red Line, The Purple Line, The Blue Line, Hoosier Heartland Corridor, and the Ohio River bridge projects.  In addition to appraisal services, the firm also provided litigation support where needed.   Joe has also provided appraisal services to numerous school districts across the State of Indiana.  

Joe has served as the 1996 President of the Metropolitan Indianapolis Board of Realtors (MIBOR) and as the 2001 President of the Indiana Association of Realtors.  Joe served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Appraisal Foundation in Washington D.C and the 2011 chairman of the Appraisal Foundation.  He was appointed to the Indiana Real Estate Appraisers Licensure and Certification Board by Governor Mitch Daniels in 2006 and has served as chairman of the board in 2008 and 2009.  Joe was appointed the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) in Washington from 2014 to 2019 and served as the AQB Chair in 2016 and 2017.     

Additionally he has served on the board of directors or as a committee chair of the Realtor Foundation, the Hoosier State Chapter of the Appraisal Institute, the Indiana Commercial Board of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors.  He served as the 2003 Appraisal Chair for the National Association or Realtors.   Joe was the 2004 Region VII Vice President for the National Association of Realtors, serving Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin.  

Joe has taught real estate and appraisal courses for various local, state and national Realtor groups, the Indiana Bar Association and the Indiana Builders Association.  He was a featured speaker at the Mortgage Fraud symposium in Cincinnati, Ohio in September 2007.  He has also written articles for numerous real estate publications and was a member of the Indianapolis Star’s “Home Team”, a panel of real estate experts who provided real estate articles to the newspaper.  

In 2003 Joe was named the MIBOR Distinguished Service Award Winner and two years later was named the 2005 MIBOR Realtor of the Year.  In 2006 he was named the Indiana Association of Realtors Realtor of the Year.  In 2013 Joe was named the Distinguished Service Award winner for the Indiana Association of Realtors.  He was also the recipient of the 2009 Edward L., White Achievement Award from the Appraisal Institute.  In 2015 he named the Distinguished Service Award winner by the Indiana Association of Realtors.  He hold the MRICS designation from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), Valuation and the GAA and RAA designations from the National Association of Realtors.
